POLICE are now investigating the death of a 69-year-old security guard who was allegedly beaten up by three men who were also wearing security guard uniforms Friday night in Sampaloc, Manila.

Loreto Garcia, married, security guard of Mighty Guardian Security Agency and resident of 141 Winston Height Subdivision, Bgy. Banlat, Quezon City was expired while undergoing treatment at the United Doctors Medical Center due to severe head and body injuries.

Police are now conducting follow-up operation to identify and arrest killers — believed to be the victim’s colleague. One of the attackers was identified only as a certain “Castro.”

Case officer SPO2 Edgardo Ko of the Manila Police District homicide section said the incident occurred 9:15 p.m. the other night inside the Angeles Bldg. along España Blvd. in Sampaloc.

The victim was said to be manning his post at the abandoned building when the suspects arrived ganged up on the hapless victim.

The suspects went on to drag Garcia outside the building where they eventually left him for good.

Meanwhile, the victim’s son told authorities that prior to the killing, his father filed a complaint against his former agency he was reportedly illegally dismissed from his job.

The victim won his court battle where the security agency was ordered to pay him P200,000. Police refused to identify the said agency pending the completion of their investigation.     Jerico Javier
