2 suspected robbers killed in Quezon City shootout

MANILA, Philippines – Two men who allegedly robbed a taxi driver were killed after shooting it out with police at dawn today in Quezon City.

Superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo, chief of the Quezon City Police District’s Police Intelligence and Operations Unit, said they have yet to identify the suspects

According to police intelligence operatives, the gunfight occurred at around 3:30 a.m. when they sighted the commandeered taxi along North Avenue near the Elliptical Road. They claimed the suspects were the first to fire at them.

Reports said one suspect escaped.

Meanwhile, the victim, 41-year-old taxi driver Ricky Aujero, was found by cops later in the vehicle’s trunk.
