A market helper who tried to resist two holduppers was stabbed dead early yesterday morning in Port Area, Manila, in front of his helpless 10-year-old son.

Victim Eddie Veron, 49, of  Block 18,  2nd  St.,  Baseco Compound, Port Area, died instantly during the stabbing incident which took place at around 3 a.m. on  Delpan Bridge in Port Area.

PO3 Rodel Benitez of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the victim was walking  in the area along with son Erick when the suspects held them up at knifepoint.

The boy told probers that when the suspects took the victim’s wallet, the victim tried to resist so he was stabbed by the duo after which they fled on foot.

Aside from the wallet, the victim’s other valuables were also taken by the suspects.
