POLICEMEN killed two suspected notorious robbers in an encounter in Pasay City Wednesday night.

Suspect Ruben Pagtakhan, Jr., alias “Snake,” 30, died instantly while his companion Xyrus Sarmiento, 30, succumbed to bullet wounds while being treated at the Pasay City General Hospital.

Case officers SPO1 Cris Gabutin and PO3 Nestor Rubel said the suspects on board a motorcycle tried to evade a police check point on Arnaiz Avenue at 10:45 p.m.

However, members of the Special Weapons and Tactics team spotted and flagged them down before they could  get away.

Instead of pulling over, the duo sped off, prompting lawmen to pursue them that resulted in an exchange of fire.

Seized from the suspects were a .22 caliber revolver, a 9mm pistol and a toy gun.

Records showed that Pagtakhan was on police’s wanted list for a string of murder, car theft and robbery cases.  But his wife denied that he was a burglar.
