TWO suspected robbers were gunned down after engaging the police in a shootout around 2:15 p.m. of Tuesday at Purok 37, sitio Malagamot, Barangay Panacan, Davao City.

The slain men were identified as Boboy Villanueva, a resident of Dream Village, Malagamot and one alias Kikoy.

The Sasa police were about to arrest the suspects, but they fled onboard a black motorcycle.

A chase ensued but the suspects were cornered at purok 37, sitio Malagamot. The men fired at the police officers prompting the authorities to shoot back.

Recovered from the two were eight empty shells of caliber .45 pistol and a caliber .38 revolver.

The suspects have pending warrants of arrests for direct assault and attempted homicide. They were also identified as behind the robbery incident at Marky’s Junk Shop in Panacan last January 25.

Police are still conducting operations to arrest one alias Diding Enriquez and alias Jonathan who were also involved in the robbery.

It might be recalled that cash amounting to P500,000, assorted jewelry, a PAS-12 shotgun, Sony digital camera, a DVR closed-circuit television (CCTV), one Apple Iphone and two MyPhone mobile phones were stolen at Marky’s Junk Shop owned by one Reynaldo delos Santos last week.

Two unidentified men posed as buyers and declared hold-up when the owner arrived. Four more armed men arrived and detained the other employees in a container van.

After the men took the valuables, they detained Delos Santos in the container van and fled onboard three motorcycles with no plate numbers.
