MANILA, Philippines – Two policemen based in the Rizal Provincial Police Office are now facing criminal and administrative charges for allegedly trying to summarily execute a woman who purportedly witnessed a robbery-extortion activity of the lawmen.
Calabarzon Police director Chief Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao Jr. ordered the filing of the grave misconduct resulting to abduction and frustrated murder against Police Officer 2 Mario Natividad and Police Officer 1 Antenor Mariquit.
The filing of the charges stemmed from a complaint of Grace Capistrano, 22, of Angono, Rizal. She is now confined at a hospital after sustaining 24 stab wounds and a gunshot wound in the leg.
The victim was allegedly abducted by the three suspects at the Cainta Hilltop, in Cainta, Rizal Wednesday night, the police official said.
Initial report showed that suspects, along with a certain Toto, shoved the victim inside a white car driven by Mariquit and was brought to a remote area in Pagsanjan, Laguna. Along the way, the suspects gagged and hogtied the victim with a packaging tape.
Upon reaching Pagsanjan, the suspects repeatedly stabbed the victim, shot her in the leg and threw her in a cliff.
After the suspects left, the victim managed to loosen the tie on her hands and walked toward the Pagsanjan-Cavinti road in Pagsanjan, Laguna where she was found by the driver of a passenger jeep who brought her to the hospital.
