OLONGAPO City — Two employees of LBC Express Philippines were still in critical condition after being shot by riding-in-tandem suspects Thursday morning.
Police identified the victims as Reynaldo Francisco, 35, messenger, of Bgy. San Juan, Sta. Rita, Pampanga, and Roberto Alejos Jr., 35, of Botolan, Zambales, both employees of LBC Philippines.
Investigators said that at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, the victims were about to open the LBC branch on the National Highway in Old Cabalan (near Victory Liner motorpool), when the suspects approached them and declared a holdup.
The suspects carted away P84,000 cash from the office’s vault and cash box.
Before leaving, however, the suspects fired indiscriminately towards the LBC office, hitting the victims. The gunshots caught the attention of the employees of nearby offices and rushed them to the hospital.
Police conducted follow-up operations to track down the unidentified suspects.
