Two men were shot dead in a temporary housing area in Manila’s Tondo district Thursday night, with police looking at a drug deal gone sour as a possible motive.

Manila Police District homicide operatives are tracking down the men behind the shooting, radio dzBB’s Roland Bola reported early Friday.

As of early Friday, police had initially identified one of the victims as Simon Brioso Jr.

An initial investigation showed the two were shot at the Aroma Temporary Housing area in Barangay 105, Zone 8 past 8 p.m. Thursday.

Scene of the Crime Operations (SOCO) teams found sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) in Brioso’s pants pockets.

They recovered a mobile phone from the second fatality, who they have yet to identify.

The report quoted homicide detectives as saying they are not discounting a drug deal gone bad as the motive for the killing. — LBG, GMA News
