CABANATUAN City — Unidentified assassins shot dead two men in separate killing incidents in Nueva Ecija last Saturday.

In Talavera, police said Joselito Almario, 34, married, a palay agent, was peppered with bullets by unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen in Bgy. Casulucan at around 9:20 a.m.

Almario was driving a black Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle on his way home to Bgy. Bakal III when the suspects, who were tailing him on board a black Honda wave motorcycle, shot him several times from behind before escaping toward the Maharlika Highway.

Probers recovered two fired cartridge cases and a deformed bullet at the crime scene while the victim’s cadaver was brought to Coronel Funeral Homes in the Science City of Muñoz.

In Licab town, two unidentified hooded gunmen shot dead Jhomar Alviento, 43, married, farmer, while the latter was feeding his pet pigs at their farm in Purok 7, Bgy. Sta. Maria at around 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

After the murderous assault, the suspects fled on foot towards Bgy. San Jose, Licab, Nueva Ecija, police said.

Probers recovered five empty shells for cal. .45 pistol at the scene.

Police have yet to determine the motives for the twin murder incidents which occurred while the election gun ban is in effect for the conduct of the upcoming Oct. 28 barangay polls.
