TWO men were killed and one was wounded in a shooting incident in barangay Tejero, Cebu City at dawn yesterday.

The motive of the attack is still being investigated.

Ralando Ninal, 20, a habal-habal driver, told police that he and his companions, Christopher Pundar, 20, of barangay Lahug, Cebu City, and Erlito Cañete, of Tabuelan town, Cebu, were walking in an alley in sitio Sampaguita when they were shot at by three unidentified men around 3 a.m.

Pundar and Cañete were killed on the spot.

Cañete, who was walking ahead of them, was shot first.

Ninal, a habal-habal driver of barangay Lahug, said he ran away and boarded a taxicab.

He was shot in the left arm.

Ninal went straight to the Funete police station and reported the incident.

Members of the Mobile Patrol Group rushed to sitio Sampaguita and found the bodies of Pundar and Cañete there.

Police failed to locate the assailants.

Ninal said they were in the area to claim a pawned cellphone.

Cañete’s brother told police that the victim went to Cordova town to attend a fiesta celebration but left for unknown reason.
