The fatalities were identified as Helen Mirung, 34, and Gerry Londongon, 36. Both succumbed to gunshot wounds from a .45 caliber pistol.

Hospitalized was Joseph Allan Caiza, who sustained a gunshot wound on his left shoulder.

A police report disclosed that the gunman identified as Usman Sajid Alkala went berserk around 5 p.m.

The shooting incident happened at a store where there were several people. Armed with the .45 cal. pistol, Alkala opened fire on the crowd.

Mirung and Londongon were buying at a nearby store when they were hit by the bullets. They were rushed to a hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.

Caiza was later transferred to Pagadian Hospital for further treatment.

Alkala was arrested by policemen.
