A 21-YEAR-OLD tricycle driver and a 19-year-old man were killed in two separate shooting incidents in Davao City recently.
The recent incident happened at around 9 a.m. Saturday in front of the Barangay Hall of Wilfredo Aquino in Agdao.
The slain victim was identified as Maico Montabante, 21, of SOS Settler, Bajada.
Initial investigation conducted by Sta. Ana police revealed the victim was waiting for a passenger in the area when an unidentified armed man on-board a motorcycle shot him on his head.
The killer fled to an unknown direction while the victim was brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center where he was declared dead upon arrival.
Police are yet to determine the motive of the incident.
The other incident happened at around 6:45 p.m. Friday at the corner of Lacson and Sobrecarey streets in Barrio Obrero.
The victim was identified as Ricardo Navarro Jr., alias Payat, 19 and a resident of Mamay Village in Lanang.
Based on the initial investigation conducted by Sta. Ana police, the victim was driving a pedicab along with her live-in partner identified as Alma, 15 in the area when a male suspect only identified as Chinese, 5’6” in height and on board a blue motorcycle suddenly approached the victim.
The suspect then shot the victim twice with the use of a caliber .45 pistol killing the latter on the spot.
Recovered from the crime scene was one empty shell of caliber .45 pistol.
Further investigation revealed that the victim was a member of Chowking Boys, allegedly involved in pickpocket to passers-by in the area. The slain victim was also allegedly involved in thievery cases in the Sta. Ana police area-of-responsibility.
