TWO men were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in two separate shooting incidents in Davao City on Friday.

The first victim was a 19-year-old student of the University of Mindanao (UM) who was killed at around 3 a.m. Friday in SIR, New Matina, Davao City.

The victim was identified as Fahad Malambot Dagalangit, a native of Parang, Maguindanao and currently staying in SIR, New Matina.

Local authorities said the killing could be politically-motivated as the victim is a close relative of a politician back in his hometown.

In an investigation conducted by Talomo police, it was learned that Dagalangit was accompanying his girlfriend on her way home when shot several times by an unidentified man.

The gunman, clad in a jacket, about 5’4″ in height and between 20 and 30 years of age, immediately fled after the shooting.

The victim succumbed to gunshot wounds in his head and in his right chest.

At around 5:30 p.m. also on Friday, another man was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen along R. Castillo street in Ubalde, Agdao.

Police identified the victim as Dhave dela Rosa Tapang, 34, married, sales manager of Norlan Bottling Corp. and a resident of Indangan, Buhangin.

In an investigation conducted by Sta. Ana police, it was learned that the victim was just standing by the roadside when he was shot twice by two motorcycle-riding gunmen.

The victim succumbed to gunshot wounds in his head and back.

The gunmen fled after the incident.
