First it was at Sitio Balinsungay in Mercedes, where bodies were found one after the other early this year. Last Friday afternoon, two corpses turned up at nearby Calle Kape, about a hundred meters away from the Mercedes parish church.
The two bodies were found along the riverbank around 5 p.m.
A police report disclosed that the bodies bore stab wounds.
Apparently the dead men were not residents of Mercedes as no one from the village could identify them.
Police theorized that the victims were killed elsewhere and their bodies dumped in Mercedes.
The bodies were taken to the Villa Funeral Parlor for post mortem examination.
The funeral parlor management disclosed that one of the victims was identified by relatives as Cuariz Jal, a native of Jolo, Sulu.
Jal had been seen several times in one of the establishments in Veterans Avenue, this city.
Residents believe the two men were “salvaged” (summary executed).
