COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Two people were arrested by the Cotabato-Philippine National Police (PNP) after attempting to avoid a checkpoint conducted by the Public Safety Company at Don Rabago Extension past 8 p.m Thursday.

According to City PNP Director Sr. Supt. Rolen Balquin, police arrested the individuals who were on board a motorcycle when they refused to stop at the checkpoint.

The suspects, Nashir Badaos Blah and Guianaed Guiaman Guiani, were arrested 30 meters away from the checkpoint.

Recovered from their possession were a 9mm pistol, a .45 caliber pistol, and a .38 revolver with ammunition.

They are facing charges for violating the election gun ban and may face charges of illegal possession of firearms if they fail to show gun permits.
