Two alleged members of a notorious highway robbery gang were shot dead in Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte last Tuesday afternoon.
Killed were Gregorio Maribeles, 33, single, and Kimsar Gones, 36, married, both of Kumalarang Zamboanga del Norte.
They were gunned down by still unidentified gunmen aboard a motorcycle about 4:50 p.m.
A police report disclosed that Maribeles and Gones were on their way to Manukan for unknown reason when gunmen aboard another motorcycle sidled up and shot them.
The gunmen fled towards Liloy municipality. The victims died on the spot.
Police were looking into information that the fatalities were alleged members of a robbery group operating in the province.
