BUSTOS, Bulacan –Two of three suspected robbers were gunned down in an armed encounter with police at a by-pass road in Bgy. Malamig, here, Saturday afternoon.

Bustos police head Chief Insp. Arwin Tadeo, in his report to Bulacan PNP officer-in-charge Senior Supt. Joel Sabio Orduña, identified one of the suspects as Eddie Ignacio, 38, of  Bgy. Tabang, Plaridel, Bulacan, while the other suspect is still unidentified.

Tadeo said the encounter occurred shortly after the three held up Cesar Villanueva, 53, married and a resident of Bgy Poblacion, Bustos.

The victim  immediately reported the heist to Bustos police headed by Tadeo. 

At around 3 p.m., two motorcycles with three male persons on board  were seen approaching the personnel of Bustos police. When they were flagged down, a suspect on board a black Racal motorcycle, sensing the arrest, sped off. The two other  suspects on board a blue Euro motorcycle fired at the police officers.  An exchange of gunfire ensued, resulting in the death of the two suspects.  

Recovered were two small plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, two caliber .38 revolvers with six live ammunition and five spent cartridges as well as the blue Euro motorcycle, without plate number. The black Racal motorcycle without plate number used by the other suspect, as well as the victim’s wallet containing cash and his ID were recovered in Bgy. Culianin, Plaridel, Bulacan.  

Bustos PNP is tracking down the other suspect.
