MANILA – Police arrested at least 14 armed men near Almario Elementary School in Moriones, Tondo at around 5 pm Monday.

Initial radio DZMM reports said at least 4 of the men were carrying 45 caliber pistols and were riding a Nissan Urvan when they were arrested. Police said bystanders tipped them off about the armed men near the school.

A police official said authorities, including soldiers, approached the men and asked them what they were doing near the school. He said the men claimed to have voted but were unable to say which precinct they voted.

At least one of the men allegedly had an ID of the Moro islamic Liberation Front.

The suspects will be brought to Police Station 2 for questioning. Report by Noel Alamar, radio dzMM
