Note: incident already registered.
At least one of three suspected kidnappers was killed in a shootout with police operatives while allegedly trying to abduct a businesswoman in Pasig City late Tuesday.
Radio dzBB reported early Wednesday that a second suspect is undergoing interrogation by the Police Anti-Crime Emergency Response (PACER), and a third escaped on a motorbike.
The incident occurred along Lanuza Street in Ugong village in Pasig City, nearly a week after the suspects allegedly threatened to abduct the victim.
One of the suspects, initially identified as Red Osangco, was declared dead at the Rizal Memorial Medical Center at 6:25 p.m. due to gunshot wounds in the body.
Eastern Police District (EPD) head Chief Superintendent Francisco Manalo Jr. said the businesswoman, whose name he withheld, informed them of the threat she received last Friday.
Manalo said the would-be victim claimed the suspects threatened to kidnap her if she did not pay them P500,000.
On Tuesday, the suspects supposedly tried to abduct the businesswoman, not knowing EPD and PACER operatives had been keeping an eye on the area.
When the lawmen reportedly tried to stop the suspects from performing their plot, they fired at authorities. — LBG, GMANews.TV
