Killed was Joebert Calungan, 45, married. He succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds from M16 armalite. Fighting for his life in the hospital was Albert Rindol, single.

Police said the incident occurred around 8 p.m. while Calungan and Rindol were on their way home from a farm.

Investigation disclosed that the gunmen blocked the victims’ path. Nearby residents said that they heard loud voices shouting at each other prior to the shooting.

Minutes later a burst of gunfire was heard. Residents rushed out of their houses and saw the victims slumped on the road.

They immediately brought them to Sindangan proper and then take them to the hospital.

Calungan was declared dead on arrival and Rindol who only sustained a gunshot wound on his left leg underwent treatment.

Police are looking on land dispute as the motive behind the incident.
