CEBU, Philippines – A shoemaker was killed after he was shot by two unidentified men in Sitio Baha-baha, Barangay Liburon, Carcar City yesterday morning.
Reggie Vilaspenia, 29, a resident of the place, died after sustaining gunshot wounds to different parts of his body.
Police report said that around 8 a.m., Vilaspenia was fetching water few meters away from his house when the two motor-riding perpetrators wearing bonnet arrived and shot him four times using a .45 caliber.
The victim’s neighbors immediately brought him to Carcar City District Hospital but the attending physician pronounced him dead on arrival.
PO1 Gilmer Noval, desk officer of Carcar City Police Station, said they are still conducting investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, a 61-year-old farmer was shot and injured by unidentified man in Sitio Guinabinhan, Barangay Arpili, Balamban town the other night.
Mariano Mago Laspona, 61, resident of the place, sustained gunshot wounds to his buttock.
Around 7 p.m., Laspona was about to take his carabao a few meters away from his house when the suspect appeared and shot him.
The victim was rushed to Balamban provincial hospital but was later transferred to Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.
