One person was dead while another was wounded after motorcycle-riding men shot at them in Barangay Commonwealth in Quezon City before dawn Sunday.

Police are looking for leads to track down the two gunmen, according to a report by radio dzBB’s Roland Bola.

The fatality was identified as Mark Lipag, a resident of Purok 5 in Barangay Commonwealth. He was declared dead on arrival at the East Avenue Medical Center.

Wounded was one Genador Pagayan, 20, who is being treated for gunshot wounds.

Initial investigation showed the victims were walking along Litex Road in Barangay Commonwealth, when the suspects showed up aboard a motorcycle.

The suspects got off their vehicle and fired at the victims.

The incident occurred less than 24 hours after the Quezon City Police District got a new commander in Senior Superintendent Richard Albano.

Albano took over the QCPD Saturday from Chief Superintendent Mario dela Vega. Albano is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1984. — ELR, GMA News
