SAN MIGUEL, Bulacan — A 46-year-old mother was killed while her 3-year-old daughter was injured after a man shot them while sleeping in Bgy. Tibagan here Friday.

Police identified the victims as Winefreda Roma, who was shot in the abdomen and died while undergoing treatment in a hospital. 

Her daughter Ren Wella Wella, who was shot in the shoulder, is still fighting for her life.

Bulacan police director officer in charge Sr. Supt. Joel Sabio Orduña said the suspect, Alvin Laurena Francisco, 31, voluntarily surrendered to them.

Orduna said the incident  took place midnight last Friday when the suspect fired at the house of the sleeping victims.

Francisco immediately fled on foot after the incident.

Recovered from the crime scene were two deformed slugs of  unidentified gun.

Police said the suspect shot the victims over a prior land dispute.
