CAMD DIEGO SILANG, La Union — A septuagenarian widow was gunned down by unidentified gunmen riding in tandem on a motorcycle in Barangay Casilagan, Santo Tomas town at dawn on Friday.

 

The victim, Aurelia Abordo, of Barangay Casilagan, Sto. Tomas, was about to board a motorized tricycle on her way to church to attend a dawn Mass when the suspects approached and shot her at close–range causing her instant death.

 

Police said Abordo died of multiple bullet wounds.

 

The suspects were reportedly wearing bonnet and helmet and riding on a motorcycle without plate number.

 

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, another 70–year-old man also died in a vehicular accident on Friday along the national highway in Barangay Poblacion, Sudipen, La Union.

 

The victim, Feleciano Mondiza of Poblacion, Sudipen, La Union, had just attended a dawn mass when he was hit by a speeding owner-type jeep driven by Leonita Vizcara, 57, a school teacher.

 

Vizcara voluntarily surrendered to the police. (PNA/Sunnex)
