A MAN who posed as customer robbed a cashier of Sogo Hotel and took away more than P18,000 in cash Saturday  in Pasay City.

Jeanefe Palicpic, 30, of Zone 4, Fort Bonifacio, cashier of  Sogo Hotel on L.Wood St., told police that the suspect, posing as customer entered and sat on a chair at the lobby of the establishment past 5 p.m. and informed her that he was waiting for his companion.

After a few minutes, the suspect came closer to the cashier’s booth, drew his handgun and at gunpoint, declared a heist. After taking the hotel’s daily sales of over P18,000, the suspect fled towards EDSA and disappeared.

The cashier called the attention of their security guards but they failed to arrest the culprit.

Pasay police investigator PO3 Giovanni Arcinue, after reviewing the close circuit television(CCTV) camera footages, was able to identify the suspect as Billy Joseph Miranda, 25, of 502 F. Cruz St., Malibay.

Arcinue said he also presented to Palicpic the police rogue gallery wherein she confirmed that Miranda was the same person who robbed their daily earnings.

Operatives of Station Investigation and Detective Management Section (SIDMS) of Pasay police tracked down the suspect’s house but failed to arrest him.
