A  63-year-old father was stabbed dead by his son who used a 12-inch screw driver Sunday night.

Rodrigo Guillen was watching television with his wife, Charita, when his son Sherwin came home angry in Sta. Theresa Village, barangay Dumlog, Talisay City.

The son punched his father and stabbed him in the chest with a screw driver, SPO1 Oliver Dacua of Talisay City police station said. 

Rodrigo was rushed to the Talisay City District Hospital but was declared already dead by the attending physician, Dr. Jasmin Olorvida.

Police said Sherwin, who was under the influence of liquor, fled then surrendered a few hours later to his sister and mother in the nearby barangay of San Isidro, in Talisay.

Sherwin admitted killing his father and surrendered the screw driver, which was found in a plant box at the Mambaling Elementary School in Cebu City./Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
