A ONE-YEAR-OLD boy who was reported to be missing in Quezon City is feared to have been kidnapped.

Superintendent Pedro Sanchez, commander of the Quezon City Police District’s (QCPD) Station 2, identified the victim as Lovelio Mendoza, Jr., a resident of 33 Block A Sto. Nino St., Barangay San Antonio, Quezon City.

Sanchez said that the abduction was only reported by the victim’s father, Lovelio Sr., at Station 2 at past midnight yesterday.

The police official learned that the boy, who is one year and seven months old, was believed abducted at around 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Citing initial reports, Sanchez gathered that the boy was at the family store with his mother before he vanished.

The mother left for a while and found her son gone when she returned.

A certain Rolly Plaza told police that an unidentified man was seen carrying the boy at the San Jose covered court.

The unidentified man took the boy to a tricycle then drove away from the area.

Sanchez assured that his investigators are now looking into the case.

As of yesterday, Sanchez said investigators still have to get a statement from the boy’s parents.

Earlier, two other boys were believed to have been kidnapped in Taguig City.    Melnie Ragasa-Jimena
