CAMP Macabulos, Tarlac City — A notorious drug pusher was killed during an encounter with police operatives in Block 7, Bgy. San Manuel, here over the weekend.

In a report submitted to PRO3 director Chief Supt. Raul D. Petrasanta, Tarlac police director Senior Supt. Alfred Corpus identified the suspect as John Paul Juliano, a.k.a. Bindong, 31, married, jobless.

Tarlac City chief of police Supt. Bayani Razalan said that prior to the incident, Intelligence operatives led by SPO4 Welhilmeno Alcantara, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted a buy-bust operation in the area.

SPO1 Jordan Martin, who posed as buyer, was able to buy a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu from Juliano in exchange for P1,000 marked money.

Martin then introduced himself as a police officer, prompting the suspect to run inside his room, took his firearm and fired at the arresting police officer.

He returned fire, hitting the suspect in the body. The wounded suspect was rushed to the Tarlac Provincial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician, Dr. Rebenson Faustino.

A Tarlac SOCO team which processed the crime scene recovered a cal. .45 pistol, six fired cartridge cases and a deformed slug for 9mm pistol, and 2 pieces of P500 marked bills at the scene.

The recovered pieces of evidence were brought to Provincial Crime Laboratory for proper disposition while the slain suspect’s body was brought to Ilagan Funeral Parlor for an autopsy.

The suspect was previously arrested by the Tarlac City police for violation of RA 7610 under criminal case number 2076-2013 on Feb. 22, 2013, victimizing his six- year-old daughter.
