DASMARIÑAS City, Cavite — An unidentified gunman shot dead a newly-released BJMP inmate Monday night in Bgy. Sta. Crisina II, here.

The victim, Ramon Castro Espiritu, 43, of Blk. 2, Excess Lot, Bgy. Sta. Crisina II, this city, died on the spot from a bullet wound in the head. The suspect shot the victim while standing near his house at 7 p.m.

According to Nancy Espiritu Lopez, 42, sister of the victim, her brother was a known drug pusher in their place. Ramon was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for a drug offense.

Police believed the victim could have been killed  by another pusher who had a grudge with him. “Baka nagkaonsehan dati at nang malamang nakalabas na ang biktima ay saka ito binawian,” a policeman said. 

The suspect immediately escaped. The victim yielded a plastic sachet of shabu.
