A 31-year-old cellphone technician who was an heir to a vast track of land in Mindanao was riddled with bullets Sunday evening in Taguig City.
Allan Melico, native of Carmen, North Cotabato died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds in the head and body. A bystander, identified as Anna Marie Asas, 43, was hit with a stray bullet in her right foot and was rushed to Taguig-Pateros District Hospital for treatment.
Investigation showed that the victim was standing in front of his relatives’ house at Blk 1 Purok 6 Sitio Imelda, Upper Bicutan around 8:30 p.m. when the unidentified suspects arrived and peppered him with bullets.
Several pieces of spent shells of .45 and .9mm caliber pistol were recovered from the crime scene.
“Galing sa Coron, Palawan ang biktima at nagtungo lang dito sa Manila para mag-bakasakali na makasakay sa C-130 plane patungong Mindanao upang asikasuhin ang minanang lupa pero nang mabigong makasakay sa military plane, nagpasiya munang manuluyan sa kamag-anakan sa Taguig,” police said.
It was learned that the victim was advised by his relatives in Mindanao to supervise the vast track of land he inherited from his parents.
