A malaria stricken man shot and killed his wife in Siayan, Zamboanga del Norte last Saturday morning.
The fatality was identified as Perlita Tenorio, 35. She was shot husband Gerry, 39.
A police report disclosed that Gerry who was experiencing mental illness due to malaria went berserk and challenged his neighbors to a fistfight.
Perlita tried to calm him but Gerry turned his ire on her. After mauling her, he went inside the house and took a .38 caliber pistol, and then return to shoot his wife.
Perlita succumbed to a gunshot wound in the chest. Neighbors rushed her to the hospital while Gerry was arrested by responding policemen.
