A FEMALE teenager is in critical condition after an unidentified attacker hacked and slashed her neck several times inside their house in San Mateo, Rizal, yesterday afternoon.

Town police chief Supt. Ronaldo Mendoza said the victim, Joy, 16, of Bgy. Pintong Bukawe, San Mateo, was half-naked and bloodied when found by her friend, Teresa.    She sustained wounds in different parts of the body, including in the head and neck.

The victim was rushed by barangay watchmen to the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Hospital in Marikina City, where she remained under close observation as of press time.

“Hindi pa namin ma-tiyak ang kalagayan niya dahil sa dami ng tama ng  taga sa ulo at ginilitan pa umano ng leeg. ‘Di pa siya makausap para masabi kung sino ang mga salarin,” Mendoza said.

Case officer PO3 Marlyn Jepa of San Mateo police Children and Women’s Desk, said Joy was only in her underwear when found.

Witnesses said that prior to the incident, the victim was seen taking a bath at a well near their house.

Mendoza theorized that the attacker molested the victim and hacked her when she fought back.

Police recovered a bolo and a stone believed used in the crime. Both objects were tainted with blood. Al Rivera
