A FUEL inspector who merely stepped out of his house to lend money to a neighbor ended up dead after he was shot in the head yesterday morning in Tondo, Manila.
Leonardo Pelaez, 59, a fuel inspector at the Oceanic Container Lines and residing at 276 P. Herrera St. in Tondo, died instantly from a gunshot wound in the head.
SPO1 Rommel del Rosario of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said that based on the account given by the victim’s wife Leonor, a man whom Leonardo identified as a certain ‘Al’ called up to borrow money.
After readying an unknown amount of money, Leonardo hurriedly went down and then out of their house.
