KIDAPAWAN CITY — A 44-year-old farmer was wounded after motorcycle riding suspects shot him along the national highway in M’lang, North Cotabato, on Friday.

Inspector Rolando Dillera, deputy for investigation of the M’lang PNP, identified the victim as Edgar Duerme Tolentino of Purok-5, Barangay Pulang Lupa, M’lang.

Tolentino sustained a gunshot wound on the head and was rushed at the M’lang Doctors Hospital for treatment.

The victim told Dillera that he was driving his black Kawasaki Baja motorcycle when five unidentified persons blocked his way along Purok-Uno in Barangay Pulang Lupa.

He was shot when he was ordered, but refused to disembark.

Thinking he was dead, the suspects snatched the victim’s vehicle and fled.

Dillera said the victim was able to identify one of the suspects after they had him scan the photos of the most wanted criminals in North Cotabato.

The police officer, however, refused to name the suspect while a pursuit operation is ongoing.

Reports said Tolentino is the uncle of a public school teacher who was shot dead two weeks ago also in M’lang by motorcycle riding suspects. (PNA)
