DASMARIÑAS City, Cavite — A former Air Force enlisted man and now a businessman was wounded when he was shot in both legs by one of two holdupmen before divesting him of Php80,000 last Saturday night.

The victim, Leonardo Japlos Cornejo, 48, a retired Philippine Air Force soldier, of B17, L7, Bgy. Bulihan, Silang, Cavite, was brought to an undisclosed hospital for two gunshot wounds. Police recovered empty shells for 9mm pistol at the scene.

SPO1 Antonio Amores, duty desk officer, said the victim was driving his black Honda CB110 motorcycle (WM-1117) at 7:50 p.m. in Bgy. Sampaloc 4, Dasmariñas City when he was stopped by the suspects, who, for no apparent reason, shot him in the legs.

One of the suspects took the belt bag of the victim containing the Php80,000 and fled.

“Tiyak na inabangan ang biktima sa kanyang pag-uwi at alam ng mga suspek na mayroong malaking dalang pera ito. Baka may nag-tip na may dalang pera ang biktima,” police said.          Celso C. Lidot
