Police in Pasay City are now gathering leads to track down a gunman who shot dead their colleague Wednesday night.
The police are not discounting a personal grudge as the motive behind the killing of PO3 Alberto Aladano, radio dzBB’s Rodil Vega reported early Thursday.
Investigator-on-case SPO1 Joel Landicho was quoted in the report as saying the incident occurred along Acacia Street at Santo Niño district in Barangay 143 in Pasay City.
Landicho said their initial findings showed the gunman used a cal-.45 pistol in shooting Aladano, who is assigned to a police community precinct of the Pasay City police.
Aladano was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The shooting occurred despite an election gun ban that started last January and ends on June 12.
Under the gun ban, only law enforcers who are on duty and in full uniform may carry firearms outside their homes. —KG, GMA News
