MAKATI police arrested Friday night the suspect in the killing of a two-year-old boy whose body was dumped under a tree in Dasmariñas, Cavite a month ago.

Suspect Rowell Capampangan, 28, of San Francisco, Gen. Trias, Cavite, was vending under the Skyway in Bgy. Pio del Pilar when operatives of the Criminal Investigation Division led by Insp. Jimmy Masilang, collared him.

The suspect was tagged by his live-in partner Sheryl Magculang, 27, and mother of victim Randy Magculang Banatao, as the killer of her son. 

Reports said Capampangan slammed the boy on the post when the victim bit him on the ear  last April 6. 

After realizing that he had killed the boy, Capampangan and Magculang wrapped the victim  in a blanket and dumped him under a tree along Aguinaldo Highway, Dasmariñas. 

Police are set to file murder charges today against Capampangan before the Makati prosecutors office while the boy’s mother will be charged with parricide for concealing the crime.
