MANILA, Philippines—A taxi driver was shot in cold blood along Quezon Avenue in Quezon City during the evening rush hour on Tuesday, but no one saw the suspect including the passenger seated at the back of the vehicle, police said.

PO2 Loreto Tigno of the homicide section of the Quezon City Police District identified the fatality as Edgardo Salvador, 56, a driver for the MVBS Trans and a resident of Marilao, Bulacan.

Tigno said the victim died on the spot from a gunshot wound on his left shoulder at around 6 p.m. along the busy road in Bgy. Tatalon.

The policeman said the passenger seated at the back of the taxi was sleeping when the incident happened. Nancy C. Carvajal
