STO. Tomas, Batangas — Riding-in-tandem suspects shot a retired member of the Bureau of Fire Protection who was driving his motorcycle on the highway of Bgy. San Miguel, this town, yesterday morning.

Chief Supt. Benito Estipona, newly-installed regional director, said the victim, Mario Sau-yan, 56, of San Pablo City, died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.

Initial investigation conducted by Sto. Tomas police said the victim was driving a motorcycle when the two suspects overtook and shot him repeatedly at about 5:40 a.m.

Police are determining the motive behind the killing of the former BFP member.
