CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines—A man was killed while another was hurt when a grenade exploded in a compound of a bus company in Biñan City, Thursday evening, police said.

The victim, Dennis Calvelo, died at the scene while Dimetrio Bigueraz was injured and remained unconscious in a hospital, said Senior. Superintendent Manolito Labador, Laguna police director

Labador said the victims, who were mechanics of the HM Transport bus company were drinking with the suspect identified as Emmanuel Maranan at around 8:30 p.m. when an argument broke out, prompting Maranan to detonate a grenade.

Maranan attempted to leave his co-workers behind after the blast but the city police was able to arrest him.
