A man was shot dead near a police station at the Islamic Center District in Quiapo, Manila late Thursday evening.

Chief Insp. Erwin Margarejo of the Manila Police District (MPD) Homicide section identified the victim as Dimangandam Decampong, 45 years old and a native of Marawi City.

Initial investigation said at around 11:27 p.m. Thursday, a security guard from Mary-Chiles Hospital called the MPD Homicide section informing that a victim of a gun-shooting incident was admitted in their emergency room but was later declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

Margarejo said based on the autopsy of the cadaver, the victim died due to gunshot wounds on his trunk. He said the case is still further examination since authorities failed to locate and apprehend the suspect involved in the case.
